SDCCU Educational Programs

 
SDCCU is committed to helping teachers, parents and students make educated financial decisions by delivering some of the BEST financial education, products and services. SDCCU is engaged in several philanthropic efforts aimed at improving overall economic well-being and making a positive difference in our local schools.

SDCCU Classroom Heroes

From September 2024 through May 2025, SDCCU will honor one local San Diego County teacher each month with a "SDCCU Classroom Hero" award. Learn more about the Classroom Heroes program here.

SDCCU Biz Kid$

SDCCU has partnered with the San Diego County Office of Education and the County of San Diego in support of Live Well San Diego to provide educators the SDCCU Biz Kid$ program, a financial literacy initiative that teaches kids about money and business. Teachers throughout Southern California can request more information about the program at community@sdccu.com.

SDCCU Stuff the Bus

Each year, SDCCU Stuff the Bus collects school supplies for children in need across Southern California. In 2023, SDCCU partnered with the San Diego County Office of Education to collect over $103,000 to purchase more than 9,147 backpacks with over 220,000 school supplies for the more than 20,000 homeless students in the county. Additionally, $6,600 was collected for The Angels Foundation to help students in Orange and Riverside counties. For more information on the program, email community@sdccu.com.

Salute to Teachers

SDCCU is the presenting sponsor of the annual “Salute to Teachers” event held each year in partnership with the San Diego Office of Education. This black-tie event is a presentation of the annual San Diego County Teacher of the Year Awards.

School Presentations

SDCCU’s expert employees facilitate financial literacy workshops, seminars and webinars on a consistent basis throughout Southern California. To request a free presentation at your school or virtually for your classroom, email community@sdccu.com.
