Excellence in Education

Congratulations to the 2026-2027 San Diego County Teachers of the Year

SDCCU Celebrates Local Educators as the Presenting Sponsor of Excellence in Education

SDCCU congratulates San Diego County’s finest educators who were surprised and celebrated in their classrooms earlier this year. SDCCU is proud to be the presenting sponsor of Excellence in Education, formerly known as Salute to Teachers, which is held each year in partnership with the San Diego County Office of Education. SDCCU is proud to honor the hard work and dedication of the county's more than 24,000 public school teachers, which culminated with the announcement of the following five 2026-2027 San Diego County Teachers of the Year:

  • Katie Andan, La Costa Heights Elementary School, Encinitas Union School District
  • Mark Jeffers, Mount Miguel High School, Grossmont Union High School District
  • Robin Larson, PRIDE Academy, Santee School District
  • Mike Neumann, Bonita Southwest High School, Sweetwater Union High School District
  • Stacy Williams, Transition Resources for Adult Community Education, San Diego Unified School District

The five winners will also represent the County of San Diego in the California Teacher of the Year program, where they will compete to go on to the National Teacher of the Year program. This year’s 50 local teacher nominees recognized by their districts as teachers of the year were selected based on student achievement, professional development and community involvement, teaching philosophy and personal style, knowledge of educational issues and trends, promotion and development of the teaching profession, accountability, and ability to serve as ambassadors of education.
