SAN DIEGO (August 28, 2023) – San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®) is proud to celebrate San Diego’s finest educators as the presenting sponsor of the 33nd Annual “Cox Presents: Salute to Teachers” event. Held in collaboration with the San Diego County Office of Education and Cox® Communications, the awards show is a presentation of the 50th Annual San Diego County Teacher of the Year Awards. SDCCU has supported this event for the past 15 years.

“SDCCU is thrilled to support this exceptional awards event and praise the influential work of
San Diego teachers and educators who impact our community and students,” said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell. “Teachers play a critical role in the lives of our youth as they’re leaders who inspire them towards pursuing their full potential. We congratulate the winners for their dedication to their students that they demonstrate every single day.”

This year’s event was celebrated at a private reception held on Friday, August 25 at UCSD Park & Market. The event will air in October on Cox’s YurView Network (Cox Channel 4/1004 and Spectrum Channel 4). For broadcast dates and times, visit salutetoteacherssd.com. The television special will highlight the hard work and dedication of the county’s more than 24,000 public school teachers, share highlights from the reception and celebrate the five 2023-2024 San Diego County Teachers of the Year:

  • Christina Bass, Painted Rock Elementary, Poway Unified School District

  • Amanda Ford, Flying Hills School of the Arts (previously Rancho San Diego Elementary), Cajon Valley Union School District
