SD Metro Magazine honors San Diego’s elite business leaders

SAN DIEGO, Calif., (June 29, 2021) -- San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is proud to announce that SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell was named a 2021 Woman of Influence by SD Metro Magazine. The award recognizes local executives who have made meaningful contributions to the San Diego region, and this marks the second consecutive year Campbell has received this honor.

Campbell was selected by a panel of judges for demonstrating steadfast leadership during a challenging year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and for her impactful contributions in the credit union industry and the San Diego community. Campbell has proven she is a highly strategic and effective leader and has a genuine passion for helping to progress the credit union movement and improving lives by providing breakthrough banking products and sound financial services. Her leadership has significantly contributed to SDCCU’s growth and success which includes propelling SDCCU’s position to a top credit union in the nation. SDCCU has been voted BEST Credit Union for the 21st consecutive year; BEST Financial Planner and Best Mortgage Provider for the 11th year in a row, as well as BEST Auto Loan Provider and BEST Place to Work for the 7th year in The San Diego Union-Tribune Readers Poll.

Under Campbell’s direction, to help those facing financial hardship, SDCCU offered financial relief to customers, resulting in the deferment of thousands of loan totaling over $1 billion in balances. Also, with the pandemic preventing SDCCU’s ability to host seminars in person, SDCCU moved its Financial Wellness Wednesdays program to a digital format to make financial education accessible for the community at a time when it was needed most. In 2020 alone SDCCU hosted 269 financial wellness presentations. Additionally, to help give parents who were now teaching kids at home some resources and reprieve, SDCCU shared its SDCCU Biz Kid$ Program. The program, which is predominantly online and ideal for distance learning, helped engage kids at home with a fun and interactive way to learn about money. To complement the resources, SDCCU furthered its reach with Biz Kid$ and help for parents and teachers by hosting regular Biz Kid$ events online for students throughout the year.
