Doors of Change honored for helping others and making a positive impact in the San Diego community

SAN DIEGO, Calif., (June 2, 2021) – San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is proud to present the quarterly George Chamberlin Community Leadership Award to Doors of Change™, selected for the positive impact they strive to make in the San Diego community.

The award recognizes individuals and organizations that devote their time, talents and resources to helping others and making San Diego a better place to live. For the first quarter of 2021, the award recipient is Doors of ChangeSince 2001, Doors of Change has been transforming the lives of homeless youth. Over the past 20 years, the organization has helped place over 2,000 homeless youth in safe housing and off the streets. In 2013, the agency identified a significant gap in the services and resources available to “transitional-age-youth” (those between the ages of 16 and 25) and decided to re-brand as Doors of Change and deliver a unique service to address this critical need.

“We are pleased to present and support the 2021 George Chamberlin Community Leadership Award,” said Teresa Campbell, SDCCU president and CEO. “Being able to recognize people and organizations in our community who are changing lives and improving the areas where we live is incredibly rewarding. We congratulate Doors of Change and celebrate the hard work they do.”
