SDCCU Remains Current World Records Holder

Thanks to the efforts of Team SDCCU, our customers and our partners in the community, SDCCU remains the current record holder for the most paper collected in 24 hours and the most paper shredded in 8 hours. In 2019 more than 239,000 pounds of paper was shredded and recycled for the most waste paper shredded in 8 hours.

Since we began hosting our free Shred Day events in 2007, over 4.5 million pounds of paper have been collected, shredded and recycled at no charge, saving nearly 40,000 trees (every 120 pounds shredded represents one saved tree).
