Thank You, San Diego!

Two Guinness World Records™ are Set at the 2017 SDCCU Super Shred Event

Thanks to the efforts of Team SDCCU, our customers and our partners in the community, we broke our existing GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title at the 2017 SDCCU Super Shred Event, collecting, shredding and recycling an incredible 898,931 pounds of paper! Approximately 12,000 people turned out at Qualcomm® Stadium (now SDCCU® Stadium) on June 24 to properly dispose of confidential information.

In addition to setting our 5th record for most paper collected in a 24-hour period, we also achieved a new record for the most paper shredded in 8 hours.

Since we began hosting our free Shred Day events in 2007, nearly 3.5 million pounds of paper have been collected, shredded and recycled at no charge, saving nearly 30,000 trees (every 120 pounds shredded represents one saved tree).
