The Wave hosting matching day and donating portion of ticket sales

SAN DIEGO, Calif., July 7. 2026) — San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institutions, is hosting its annual SDCCU Stuff the Bus campaign to raise monetary donations to purchase back-to-school supplies for students experiencing homelessness in partnership with the San Diego County Office of Education and iHeartMedia. This year, in addition to the online and in-branch collections, SDCCU has partnered with San Diego Wave FC to support these students in need. On July 7, San Diego Wave FC will match every donation made, dollar-for-dollar up to $7,500. In addition, San Diego Wave FC will donate a portion on ticket sales from its July 11 game to the Stuff the Bus fundraiser. Game tickets can be purchased at sandiegowavefc.com/tickets.

More than 24,000 school-age children were identified as experiencing homelessness during the last school year. Homelessness for school-age children can mean living in a shelter, sharing a residence with multiple families, living in a car or trailer in San Diego County, or sharing a room in an apartment with relatives. Homelessness is not limited to urban, downtown San Diego — it also affects suburban school districts all over the county.
