CalAssist Mortgage Fund Expansion
CalAssist Mortgage Fund - Financial Relief for California Homeowners
California has launched the CalAssist Mortgage Fund Program, an initiative providing financial assistance to displaced families whose homes were destroyed or left uninhabitable by recent California disasters. CalAssist will aid homeowners with 12 months of mortgage payments (up to a maximum of $100,000). These grants will be paid directly to the homeowner's service provider and never have to be repaid. Funds are limited and once submitted, applications will be reviewed in the order received. This program is free to apply.
You may be eligible for CalAssist if:
- Your primary residence was destroyed or is uninhabitable due to a qualified disaster from January 1, 2023 to January 8, 2025
- The Los Angeles wildfires are an example of a qualified disaster
- You are below the program's income limits
- You have a mortgage or reverse mortgage
- You own only one residential property
- You own a single-family home, condo or permanently affixed manufactured home (may include up to four units)
