SDCCU will present “Romance Scams and Love Fraud,” a free educational seminar with San Diego County Deputy District Attorney Paul Greenwood from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14, at the San Diego County Operations Center, located at 5530 Overland Ave., Room 124. Online dating has become increasingly popular among single men and women searching for love. But unfortunately, this popularity has also piqued the interest of scam artists, and many times one’s quest for love may find fraud instead. During the seminar, Greenwood will cover current scams, romance scams and ways to protect yourself. Lunch will be provided for attendees. Seating is limited and reservations are required. To register, visit sdccu.com/seminar.
With more than 25 years of experience and having been involved in the prosecution of over 600 felony cases of elder and dependent adult abuse, Greenwood is a renowned, award-winning prosecutor. He’s been head of the Elder Abuse Prosecution Unit since 1996 and is currently co-chair of the California District Attorney Elder Abuse Committee. He’s been featured on both CBS’s “Eye on America” and NBC’s “Nightly News.” Over his career, he has been acknowledged with numerous accolades, including the “Visionary for Change” Award, San Diego County Bar Public Service Attorney Award and the Professional Leadership Award by the Elder Financial Protection Network.
