SDCCU Financial Wellness Wednesdays Presents Free Seminar on Online Romance Scams
Former San Diego County Deputy District Attorney Paul Greenwood hosts online scam seminars in three counties

, one of California’s top credit unions, will host “Online Romance Scams,” a free educational seminar presented by former San Diego County Deputy District Attorney Paul Greenwood. There will be three sessions covering San Diego, Orange and Riverside counties; 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12 at the County of San Diego Operations Center located at 5560 Overland Ave. suite 110, 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11 at Norman P. Murray Community Center located at 24932 Veterans Way, Mission Viejo, and 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18 at the Temecula Public Library, located at 30600 Pauba Road, Temecula. The seminar is part of SDCCU Financial Wellness Wednesdays, launched in partnership with the San Diego County Library in support of Live Well San Diego
Online dating has become increasingly popular among single men and women searching for love. But unfortunately, this popularity has also piqued the interest of scam artists, and many times one’s quest for love may find fraud instead. During the seminar, Greenwood will cover current online romance scams and strategies to protect yourself and your loved ones. Complimentary parking and light refreshments will be provided. With more than 25 years of experience and having been involved in the prosecution of over 600 felony cases of elder and dependent adult abuse, Greenwood is a renowned, award-winning prosecutor. He was head of the Elder Abuse Prosecution Unit for more than 20 years and was also co-chair of the California District Attorney Elder Abuse Committee. He’s been featured on both CBS’s “Eye on America” and NBC’s “Nightly News.” Over his career, he has been acknowledged with numerous accolades, including the “Visionary for Change” Award, San Diego County Bar Public Service Attorney Award and the Professional Leadership Award by the Elder Financial Protection Network.
