, San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is proud to announce that SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell was recognized with the 2019 Business Leadership Award by the North San Diego Business Chamber. The award honors outstanding business leaders who make an impactful, positive difference within the community. Campbell was nominated for her exemplary leadership, direction and passion for putting people before profits within the San Diego community.
SDCCU was also named a 2019 Business Impact Award Finalist for its commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of members by providing breakthrough banking products that meet the demands of customer’s busy lifestyles and for making a difference in the communities SDCCU serves through volunteerism and financial support.
The award winners were honored during the annual Celebration of Business dinner on June 27th
at the Bernardo Winery.

Campbell has earned a number of notable awards for her accomplishments and leadership in the time she has been with SDCCU. In 2019, she was named CEO of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal.
In 2018, she was selected as one of 25 San Diego Business Women of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal
and honored with a Bronze Stevie Award for 2018 Female Executive of the Year. Campbell was named Most Admired CEO by San Diego Business Journal
in 2017 having also earned the honor in 2015, as well as recognized for a second time at the San Diego Business Journal’s
Women Who Mean Business Awards with her first win occurring in 2011. Campbell was also chosen as the 2016 Business Leader of the Year by the North San Diego Business Chamber.
Campbell serves on the Department of Business Oversight, CU Advisory Committee and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Credit Union Advisory Council. She served as the 2012 and 2013 Board Chair of the California Credit Union League and has since continued her service to the League by serving as a Board and Committee Member. Campbell also serves as a Board Member of the National Credit Union Foundation.
Campbell’s educational background includes a BS – Accounting from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a MAS – Financial Management from The Johns Hopkins University.
