SDCCU Financial Wellness Wednesdays Presents Free Seminar on Romance Scams and Love Fraud
Former San Diego County Deputy District Attorney Paul Greenwood hosts scams seminar at County of San Diego Operations Center

, San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, will host “Romance Scams and Love Fraud,” a free educational seminar presented by former San Diego County Deputy District Attorney Paul Greenwood from 6-7pm on Wednesday, February 13, at the County of San Diego Operations Center, located at 5500 Overland Ave. Training Room 120. The seminar is part of SDCCU Financial Wellness Wednesdays, launched in partnership with the San Diego County Library in support of Live Well San Diego
Online dating has become increasingly popular among single men and women searching for love. But unfortunately, this popularity has also piqued the interest of scam artists, and many times one’s quest for love may find fraud instead. During the seminar, Greenwood will cover current scams, romance scams and strategies to protect yourself. Complimentary parking and light refreshments will be provided. With more than 25 years of experience and having been involved in the prosecution of over 600 felony cases of elder and dependent adult abuse, Greenwood is a renowned, award-winning prosecutor. He’s been head of the Elder Abuse Prosecution Unit since 1996 and is currently co-chair of the California District Attorney Elder Abuse Committee. He’s been featured on both CBS’s “Eye on America” and NBC’s “Nightly News.” Over his career, he has been acknowledged with numerous accolades, including the “Visionary for Change” Award, San Diego County Bar Public Service Attorney Award and the Professional Leadership Award by the Elder Financial Protection Network.
