SDCCU raised nearly $18,000 to help support the efforts of the San Diego Humane Society, Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center in Riverside County and the Animal Assistance League of Orange County this past holiday season with its sixth annual “Presents for Paws” fundraiser. Funds generated from the campaign will be used in part to provide medical care for local shelter animals in need and help educate the community about the importance of adoption and responsible pet ownership.
SDCCU raised a total of $17,911 this year, exceeding last year’s collection of $12,974 by nearly $5,000.
Donations were collected throughout November and December 2017 at all of SDCCU’s 43 convenient branch locations in San Diego, Riverside and Orange counties as well as on its website, sdccu.com.
“We are proud to support local animal shelters through SDCCU’s Presents for Paws program again this year,” said Teresa Halleck, SDCCU president and CEO. “We know the donations of our customers and employees truly make a world of difference for the homeless, sick and abandoned pets these wonderful organizations serve in our communities.”
