San Diego County Credit Union distributes thousands of school supplies to students across the county

SDCCU Stuff the Bus supply drive held in partnership with Channel 933 and the San Diego County Office of Education

SDCCU Stuff the Bus, held in partnership with Channel 933 and the San Diego County Office of Education, yielded thousands of school supplies for students as they headed back to school this year. The SDCCU School Bus was on tour with Channel 933 throughout August, making various stops to collect supplies. The community was encouraged to drop off supplies at any one of SDCCU’s 38 convenient locations and a total of 3,470 school supplies were collected in the inaugural drive!

“We thank the entire community for coming together to support our local schools, teachers and students. Through SDCCU Classroom Heroes, our organization is proud to support many programs that enhance the lives of teachers and students. SDCCU Stuff the Bus furthered our support of local schools by providing students with basic supplies to help better prepare them to succeed in the classroom,” said Teresa Halleck, president and CEO at San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution.

The San Diego County Office of Education identified several district/schools throughout the county where there is additional need for supplies, such as new pencils, pens, notebooks, calculators and paperclips. The supplies that were donated to SDCCU Stuff the Bus will be given directly to districts to divide among schools.
