SDCCU, San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, has begun its fourth annual Holiday Toy Drive benefiting Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, the largest children’s hospital in California.
Through Dec. 27, 2013, every one of SDCCU’s 32 convenient branch locations in San Diego, Riverside and Orange counties will serve as an authorized drop-off location for new, unwrapped toys. All toys will be donated to Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, announced Teresa Halleck, president and CEO of San Diego County Credit Union.
“We are proud to support Rady Children’s Hospital in the collection of toys that will hopefully make the day a little brighter for Rady patients all year round,” Halleck said. “We encourage our customers to join us in our effort to create healthier tomorrows by participating in our Holiday Toy Drive, which we hope will deliver a message of joy to courageous youngsters who find themselves in need of pediatric healthcare.”
Donated items may be used throughout the year as gifts to individual patients in various age groups, as well as utilized in playrooms, support groups, as in-room activities for patients and in conjunction with therapies.
Last holiday season, SDCCU’s customers and employees donated more than 1,000 toys in support of SDCCU’s third annual Holiday Toy Drive.
