What is SDCCUdirect?

SDCCUdirect™ makes it easy and convenient to transfer money from your account at external financial institutions to your accounts at SDCCU. You can transfer to eligible SDCCU® shares and loans after your external account is verified through a trial deposit process.

Once you are enrolled, it's easy to set up your external accounts. The name on your external account(s) must match the name on your SDCCU account. For joint accounts, each joint account holder will need to set up their own SDCCUdirect profile in order to transfer money from external accounts in their name.

How do I begin?

1. Enroll in SDCCUdirect through Internet Branch. Log onto Internet Branch and click SDCCUdirect from the navigation bar.
2. Create your SDCCUdirect profile and passcode. Each account holder on your account (individual or joint) will create their own SDCCUdirect passcode to access the service. In addition, each individual must use a unique email address. You’ll be required to enter your passcode each time you log into SDCCUdirect.
3. Input your external account information under the Manage Accounts tab and initiate the trial deposits. Two small trial deposits will be made into your external account within 2 business days.
4. Check your external account for the two small trial deposits and note the amounts.
5. Log back into SDCCUdirect to confirm the trial deposit amounts.
6. You are now ready to transfer funds into your SDCCU accounts. You may set up one time and recurring transfers.

What are the passcode requirements?

To help ensure your security, passcodes must consist of 6-12 characters and contain alpha and numeric characters. The passcode is case sensitive and does allow for characters such as # or !. If you should forget your passcode or your SDCCUdirect profile should become locked, please call the Information Center at (877) 732-2848 during normal business hours. Always remember to update any temporary passcode in your profile to your own unique passcode.

How do I fund a Certificate Account using SDCCUdirect?

Log onto Internet Branch and click on Certificate to create your Certificate with the desired term and dollar amount, not to exceed $25,000. Choose the funding method “Transfer from a non-SDCCU account using SDCCUdirect”. If you do not already have an existing SDCCUdirect profile, you will be prompted to create one and to set up and verify your external account. If you already have an SDCCUdirect profile, you will enter your passcode and be able to initiate the transfer of funds for the Certificate from an existing verified account or add and verify a new external account. Please note that the rate of the selected Certificate is valid for 7 days from the date of creation. You may only have one SDCCUdirect Certificate Account transfer pending at a time.

How do I set up my external accounts?

Once you are enrolled, it's easy to set up additional external accounts. Log into SDCCUdirect and enter your passcode. You can add new external accounts under the Manage Accounts tab. Follow the same verification process as above.

Where do I find my trial deposits?

Access your external account's transaction history and look for two small deposits and one withdrawal totalling the two deposits. The deposits should be titled TRIALCREDT. The trial deposits should appear within 2 business days of adding the account to SDCCUdirect. There will also be a withdrawal labeled TRIALDEBIT in the same amount as the two deposits.

How many external accounts can I have set up with SDCCUdirect?

You may have up to 5 external accounts verified for transfers. You may delete accounts at any time in order to add new accounts.

Can I transfer the funds into any account?

All of your eligible SDCCU accounts will be listed for transfers. Some accounts, such as IRAs, are not eligible for this service.

Why can’t I transfer the funds out of my SDCCU account?

SDCCUdirect is a transfer in service only. Bill Payer Plus is a convenient option to make outgoing payments to just about anyone. Learn more about Bill Payer Plus here.

Why can’t I transfer money from someone else’s account to my SDCCU account?

For security reasons only the person authorized to withdraw from the external account may initiate an automatic transfer. Therefore, the name on the external account must match the name on the SDCCU account receiving the funds.

Is SDCCUdirect safe?

Yes. SDCCUdirect is accessed behind the security of Internet Branch, our online banking tool. In addition, each account holder on your account (individual or joint) will create their own SDCCUdirect passcode to access the service. This ensures that only you have access to transfer funds from your external accounts.

Is there a fee to use this service?

No. SDCCU does not charge a fee for these transfers. Please be sure to check the balance in your external account prior to making the transfer.

Are there transfer limits?

Yes, the following transfer limits apply and you may only have one SDCCUdirect Certificate Account transfer pending at a time.
    • Certificate Funding: $25,000
    • Single transfer and/or single day: $4,000
    • In process 30 day rolling period: $8,000

How long will my transfer take?

SDCCU utilizes the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system to transfer funds to your SDCCU account. It may take up to three (3) business days to receive funds once requested.
